Who is Audrey Krüger? In summary, I am a South African, born and raised in Cape Town, now living in super sunny Tampa Bay, Florida.
My inspiration for paintings? In short, the photos I have taken on my many travels. As you will notice, I have a strong leaning towards African animals. Animals speak to my soul, and I try to capture their personalities with my camera and then translate them into paint.
I began painting in oils during a difficult time in 2006. It was my therapy, which then turned into art on my friends and family’s walls, some of which was sold in galleries and shops.
2008 saw me move countries with my old, beaten-up paint box and easel in tow. Roll on 10 years, and I finally had the space and capacity to start painting again, and so this website was born.
When not painting, I seek out new experiences by exploring the world by land, sea, and air as a nomadic wonderer of sorts. Culture and humanity are my passions, with the belief that by sharing the spirit of Ubuntu, we can all make the world a better place, one moment at a time.
